And it's only the end of February!
So what do you do to help keep you on track? I'll tell you my "secret" if you tell me yours......
First of all, it's taken me well over a half a century to figure out that there are things I can control, and things I can't. I don't sweat the stuff I can't anymore. This takes a HUGE burden off my shoulders! In fact, I limit - as best I can - my exposure to the stuff I can't control. (Less TV - more outdoors!)
Second of all - and the guy that wrote "The Four Agreements" talked about this one - I try not to take anything personally. (Notice I said "try". I'm still working on it.)
And lastly, I cultivate practices that help keep me on an even keel. I practice gratitude on a daily basis. I use my body and my voice to align my mind, body and heart, and I do this by practicing Qigong Sound Healing and yoga. And I try to get regular exercise - at least a 30 minute walk.
And you know what? These practices are all part of Ancient Chinese medicine, as well as modern Chinese culture. If you ever go to China, you'll see it first hand - regular exercise.....focused attention in a Qigong practice.... a genuine commitment to aligning body, mind and heart.
