The calendar says September, but the temperature outside says late July, maybe August. It's hot. Hotter than I can remember it being at this time of the year. So while fall may be around the corner, right now it's still summer. How we eat during each season is an important health consideration. In the summertime, we eat foods that cool us. Think watermelon, cucumber, salads, raw vegetables, etc. In the winter, we eat foods that warm us - soups, stews, curries and the like.
I posted this delicious recipe for hot summer days: http://www.sivanandabahamas.org/savory-watermelon-salad/ No cooking necessary, which is a blessing when you don't live with air conditioning and the temperature is hovering around 90 degrees! Try it and let me know how you like it!
