Conditions Treated by Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine
In November of 1998, the National Institutes of Health sponsored a 4 day conference on acupuncture. The conclusion was that it works. This conference was held to present the results of scientific studies funded by the NIH, and came on the heels of a study by the World Health Organization, which also found acupuncture to have therapeutic value. We have listed numerous conditions for which acupuncture has been shown to be effective, according to the above organizations. Additionally, there are conditions listed for which acupuncture has been shown to be clinically effective for thousands of years, but has not yet had scientific research funded. It is not our intention to outguess the scientists - simply to show the range of conditions which this ancient medicine has been treating for centuries. If your condition is not listed, it does not mean that acupuncture cannot help you. Give our clinic a call for a phone consultation, and we can determine if you can be helped by this medicine.
We are in the process of upgrading this page and the pages linked below. You will find that there are a number of conditions for which articles have been written, and many that are just listed with no articles. This will be changing in the coming months, so check back often!
